'The Currents That Bind Us'
This work is a reflection on place, and the nostalgia and longing I feel around bodies of water. Both images were taken at sites I have revisited over the years with different people, and the strongest memories I hold always surround water. There is a belief that all water on earth is interconnected, that every stream, river, lake and ocean is connected in a continual current. When I revisit these places, the people I was once with are no longer there - it is only the traces of memory left behind in the landscape. Where we once were is far away from where we are now, but the currents, ever- flowing, still connect us.
